Kakashi Hatake struggled to gain victory over Itachi Uchiha a few times over the course of the Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden saga. Kakashi was given a single Sharingan eye that he was able to turn into a Mangekyou Sharingan, and Itachi had access to two Mangekyou Sharingan.
However, Kakashi was gifted a second Mangekyou Sharingan by Obito Uchiha during the final stages of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, and this granted Kakashi immense power that he couldn't have imagined before. In addition, Kakashi had always been an intelligent strategist, and he just might be able to best Itachi Uchiha in single combat after getting that second Mangekyou Sharingan eye.
He had access to six bodies and six different sets of abilities that allowed him to single-handedly destroy the Hidden Leaf Village with devastating jutsu. However, Pain would find himself wanting in the face of the ninjutsu and genjutsu at the disposal of Itachi Uchiha.
His Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o would deflect whatever attacks that Pain would unleash and ultimately pacify the Rinnegan user. Ultimately, Itachi could remove Nagato from existence or leave him in a vegetative state. Widely recognized as the strongest Uchiha of all-time, Sasuke is the younger brother of Itachi. Just like Itachi, Sasuke's fighting ability is frightening, and few can hope of standing up to him. Consequently, Sasuke became one of the strongest characters in the entire series, with Naruto being the only human capable of matching him.
He made sure to walk his own path and surpass Itachi, just like his brother wanted him to. Also known as the Tail-less Tailed Beast, Kisame was as strong as a regular shinobi could get. Being one of the Akatsuki members, Kisame was held in high regard even among all the S-ranked criminals in their ranks. He was partnered with Itachi Uchiha, and although some believe that they were equal, Kisame was, in fact, weaker than Itachi.
Even among the Akatsuki, nobody knew the true strength that Itachi possessed. His fighting prowess was phenomenal, and while Kisame was physically stronger, Itachi's Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi meant that it wouldn't take him long to subdue the former Kirigakure ninja. Konoha's Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki is the strongest shinobi in the history of the series, even surpassing the likes of Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju. As such, there's no way for Itachi to be stronger than him.
His abilities, when combined with his undying spirit, make him a force to be reckoned with. Always several steps ahead of everyone else, Shikamaru knows exactly when to pull his punches, conserve his energy, and how to use the environment around him to his advantage. That's why he's able to take on Hidan by himself when no one else can.
When Kakashi is away from his students for an extended mission, Yamato takes over as a mentor for Naruto and Sakura and the added Sai. He might not have all of Kakashi's skills, but he's chosen for one very big reason. Yamato has the skills to actually tame the nine-tailed beast inside of Naruto, so to speak. When Naruto starts to lose control during training, Yamato is the only one able to reign him in. That, along with his ability to use Wood Release, something very few shinobi ever do, make him an incredibly strong character in Naruto.
While she doesn't want to repeat the mistakes of the leaders that came before her, she is still one tough shinobi in a position of power.
She also inherits some pretty powerful abilities thanks to having ancestry from two different prominent clans. Her bloodline means she not only uses Vapor Style, but also Lava Style.
Either of those skills would be powerful on their own. An acidic mist that can melt through anything in its path and the ability to expel actual lava is already impressive. Add to that the fact that she masters lightning, fire, earth, and water chakra natures, and she's a seriously powerful opponent. Not to mention, her tireless pining after Sasuke can become a bit annoying after the first hundred episodes or so. That being said, there is a lot of evidence in defense of the young leaf shinobi.
By the end of the series, Naruto and Sasuke are built up to be two of the strongest ninjas ever to walk the Earth. Sakura is successful in bringing down Sasori, an evil puppet master and feared member of the formidable group, the Akatsuki. All in all, Sakura is not only one of the more underrated forces in the Naruto universe, but she also stands tall among some of the strongest characters from the entire series. His sacrifice to bring down the Nine-Tailed Fox is not only an important plot device for the animated series, but it is also part of the reason he has found his way onto our list.
Being trained under Jiraiya, a member of the legendary Sannin trio, Minato quickly grew into one of the greatest ninjas of all time. Known as the Yellow Flash of the Leaf, the Fourth Hokage is easily one of the fastest ninjas in the series as a whole. On his own, Minato is one of the strongest characters in Naruto , but, given his bravery in the face of battle, there could be an argument that the Fourth Hokage should rank even higher.
Gaara of the Sand has arguably the most heart-breaking backstory of any character in the anime. However, he is not nearly as upbeat as the titular, knuckleheaded ninja. Cased in an armor of sand, Gaara is nearly impenetrable. While he begins his journey as a villain sent to attack the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he quickly becomes a valued ally, saving the day on more than one occasion. Before he ever received his Sharingan eye from former teammate Obito, Kakashi was a standout shinobi trained by the Fourth Hokage himself.
Not to mention, this shinobi is a longtime member of the Anbu Black Ops, an elite tactical unit of ninjas. If this were a list of most popular characters from the anime, then Kakashi would likely land a lot higher, but he remains one of the strongest Naruto characters. However, the kunoichi does not simply rest on her laurels. Harnessing the power of the Eight-Tailed beast, B does not see himself as cursed like the other shinobi with demons sealed within them.
After years of struggling, B eventually befriends his demon. Itachi Solos Grimmjowsensei's Successor. Well 13 year old Itachi cut Orochimaru's hand after genjutsu. Chibason Sofa King Fresh. Op is strong with the farce But, for real, Oro was strong but not a good match up for Itachi and cannot be considered overall 'stronger'. Kisame asking Itachi why he ran. Itachi stating that Jiraiya is in a league above both of them.
Find it yourself. I hate the fact that people can take in arguements that Itachi's comment against Jiraiya is bs when they can't take the same about a man stronger than Jiraiya? That's bull. PainHyuuga True Genius.
I would like an arguement against that doesn't involve that one quote. Roronoa Zoro Guest. Orochimaru was jealous of the Uchiha, he called Kakashi lucky to have the Sharingan 1 1 not only that, in the manga he clearly says Itachi is stronger than him.
Why would Itachi lie? There was no need for it. He could have stated he was running out of chakra. But he didn't. For all we know Orochimaru was just looking for an excuse to persue Sasuke rather than Itachi. Do we really need anymore evidence then Orochimaru saying Itachi was greater then him and Orochimaru vowing his whole life to get the Sharingan and an Uchiha body of which his first choice was Itachi. If he had any other powerup of that level he would lose.
He's just lucky he has the right tools for the job. It seems the users of this forum are too set in their ways. If Itachi is stronger than Orochimaru because of that one un needed quote.
Jiraiya is stronger than Itachi because of a different one. There cannot be double standards, if one is open to debate they both are. Orochimaru was jealous of Itachi because he was given power, Orochimaru had to work dam hard for his, and if he had that natural gift he would be on a level so much higher than Itachi.
That is why he wanted it. Sadgoob Dream Bigly. Well, this thread makes more sense than Jiraiya being stronger than Itachi. Federer Active Member.
Genjutsu is really needed. Itachi beat Orochimaru in the manga, Twice. This is canon. The first time he put Orochimaru in a genjutsu and was split over whether he should kill Orochimaru, or use him as a pawn of sorts. Kabuto interrupted him from making a decision and thus he left. The second time was when he forced Sasuke to let Orochimaru out of his body Orochimaru tried the body switching technique on Sasuke and failed , and then he sealed Orochimaru's main body permanently away with the Sword of Totsuka.
Itachi was never, ever afraid of Orochimaru It's the other way around, Orochimaru left Akatsuki after being humiliated by Itachi, and gave up on trying to get his body.
