No buffet. So we had great seats, smaller crowds and the food was absolutely wonderful! Through in an incredible sunset An absolutely wonderful experience. I was somewhat disappointed with the luau at the Sheraton Maui. Our family was seated at the table farthest away from the stage. We were also the last table to be invited to the buffet. Some of the food was already gone The show was good, but was quite short. The best part was the fire knife dance at the end.
My advice is to get there very early to get a table closer to the stage. There is no covered areas, so I would suggest a hat or sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun until the sun sets. This could have been a perfect evening if only they would invest in some sun protection! All the tables were in the sun. Sitting or walking around for two hours in the sun is not a fun time.
Especially when you have litt I literally sat there with my mom holding up beach shawls to act as a makeshift shade for the kids. Once the sun set around pm we finally got some relief and were able to enjoy about 1.
The Sheraton or whoever is in charge of managing this show needs to invest in either canopies or large umbrellas for their tables. The Luau dress code is Smart Island Casual, meaning, wear something comfortable. A light jacket or sweaters are nice when the evening gets cooler.
