Why the possibility of evil is an appropriate title




















When the two women meet outside the grocery store on a bright day, Miss Strangeworth smiles down at the baby in a disarming manner.

Miss Strangeworth is evil, too, because her moral values are misplaced. She puts more emphasis on appearances than on compassion. For example, she is inordinately proud of her beautiful roses, and the beauty of her garden makes her feel superior to her neighbors.

So, the story suggests it could be one of three people who wrote the letter and destroyed the roses: Don Harris, Don Crane, or Helen Crane. Miss Strangeworth writes poison pen letters to others because she has not developed healthy strategies to help her deal with her anger and aggression.

She represses her feelings in order to keep up the appearance of sweetness and goodness that is so important to her ego and self-perception. What does Miss Strangeworth do that deceives the townspeople? She writes nasty letters.

They are her most beloved items, and replace the children she could never bear. She is a round character and could be either static or dynamic. One of the people standing there picked it up and gave it to the person on the envelope. Society doesn 't talk about the feelings of the registered sex offender because once you are considered such, there isn 't much sympathy for these but there are individuals who views sexual assault differently.

She states that she feels much sympathy for sex offenders especially ones who are exposed on social media because she read the comments where people are wishing death upon them. She reads comments where people are wishing that registered sex offender 's commit suicide or be raped in prison.

She also reads people threatening to use the sex offender application to target sex offenders. Strangeworth destroys lives by spreading untruthful rumors contaminating her own town with negativity. Madame Loisel is dominated by greed and leads her family into financial ruin. General Zaroff has a lust for blood and kills people for pleasure. Strangeworth however, is the most destructive of the three because she takes pleasure in her malevolent actions. In the story there is a lady called Miss strangeworth who in the end turns out to be a bully.

Throughout the story no one knows who is sending the letters, this is being anonymous. This quote also gives you an idea of how Miss Strangeworth enjoyed gossip or talking about someone behind their back. This can be proved by the respect that Miss Adela Strangeworth gave to the town and her nice as well as caring behavior towards the people in the town. Primarily, the setting of the story is calm and peaceful like a decent society. This can be proved by the quotation, " Miss Strangeworth's little town looked washed and bright". This analyzes that in a little town everything…. One symobol that Shirley Jackson uses are the roses that Miss Strangeworth holds dear in her heart.
