Suitcase fusion where is the vault

You can grab the update via the auto-updater by selecting:. It is possible to individually edit an assets 'description' once it has been uploaded to Extensis? Every time I have attempted, it has reformatted each of the photos labeled with the same date with the same description. In alternative words: Is the initial upload the only way to change a description for a single asset?

You should certainly be able to add or change a description after the initial upload for any asset in Portfolio. Simply enter in or edit the existing text and click the Submit button under the field. Can you explain a bit more about the behavior you are seeing? Does Portfolio allow you to enter the text? Does the text then disappear upon returning to the thumbnail? Thank you for your reply. Portfolio allows me to enter text but it will then transfer the text and apply it to all the assets with the same date.

For example if I put the word 'Summer day' under an asset with the date , then it would also show up in the description to each asset with I discovered I have several instances of different font authors giving their font the exact same name. While Suitcase seems to let both fonts be included in the Font Library since they are, after all, different fonts , one of them is often ignored. It shows up in the Extensis Panel but clicking on it to activate it does not work; it activates the other one.

How is it recommended to handle this situation? Well this is a particular situation that Windows doesn't really handle well. On Windows you can only have a single font with the same PS name active at once.

The best option would be to remove the one you don't need assuming you don't need the duplicate. You can quickly find all your duplicates by clicking on the Duplicate Fonts Smart Search included in Suitcase Fusion 7.

If you depend on both fonts you will probably need to activate the one you want via the Suitcase Fusion client instead of the panel to ensure you get the correct one mainly because you can't really tell which is which via the panel. The Mac OS doesn't have this limitation, just in case anyone was curious.

Thanks for the reply… But the situation is that they are two entirely different fonts. One is a script and the other a slab serif titling font.

So deleting one or the other is not an option. It seems like I will have to resort to using my FontCreator software and changing the name of one of them. If anyone else has a suggestion that doesn't involve making font designers mad at me, give a shout. Switch Editions? Channel: Extensis Forums - Latest posts. Mark channel Not-Safe-For-Work? File Assassin. The next step is to sacrifice my dog. Any ideas appreciated, Keith. Progress Report. And indeed at last there has been progress. I don't recall solving the issue this way the last time I had the problem. So who knows; maybe this will work for some and not for others. I'm savouring a few moments before installing a newer version — I'm afraid to think of what can of worms that might open.

This was how I spent my Christmas vacation. Portions of it anyways. Sorry that you had so many issues Keith. I'd recommend working with our support team to help.

They're great and pretty responsive when it's not during the holidays, of course. You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads V. Replies 14 Views Sep 21, jwheeler. Back then Extensis migrated our Fusion licenses to universal typ client for a very fair fee. Just to let you kown that I'm testing a machine in which I logged in and created a test font vault.

I've copied it into the Shared folder and created another user on the machine. I then logged out of Suitcase Fusion and logged out of my account.

Logged into the new account and trashed all the default files with account creation, so that they could recreate. Copied the vault into place and adjusted permissions as needed to make sure it's not a permissions issue.

Logged in as another user, Suitcase goes and does what it need to does. Then blah-m0!!!! No bueno. I'm still poking around the SQLdb to see if I can find something. Such a simple, time saving task has changed dramatically. I heard ya on UTS, and I know of the benefits that it offers. We have other clients running it.

However this outfit has a very limited IT staff with no Apple knowledge. To allow the users do these task easily without having to wait for an IT personnel to help them with exceptional WinOS knowledge and get no where.

Hopefully I can create something similar to what I've had setup before.
